Despite embarking on their maiden continental campaign, Oliver Glasner's side are adapting at a rapid pace. Missing key players like forward Jean-Philippe Mateta and wing-back Daniel Muñoz, the London club left Dublin with a comfortable result that virtually guarantees them a spot in the Europa Conference League qualifying rounds.
A further victory in their next fixture against Finland's KuPS should be enough to seal direct entry to the knockout stages, particularly following a prior stumble against Strasbourg.
Squad Members Grasp the Opportunity
This match provided a chance for several Palace's fringe talent to impress. Christantus Uche, making only his second start since arriving on loan from Getafe, notched the scoring with a well-taken goal. Striker Eddie Nketiah added a another, scoring for the second game in succession.
The Shelbourne team that had concluded their domestic season were no match even for a largely second-string Palace lineup. The visitors were already depleted by the news that Mateta and Muñoz are out with leg problems.

After the break, manager Oliver Glasner seized the opportunity to withdraw several players like Kamada and Wharton. Replacement Romain Esse came close to scoring his first touch, only to see his effort blocked.
The youngster was desperately unlucky later on, seeing one attempt strike off both posts before being gathered on the line. Uche also blazed a sitter of a chance, indicating there is still room for improvement in his game.
The only worry for Palace was a second-half injury to Justin Devenny, who was forced off. This allowed 17-year-old striker Benji Casey to make his first-team debut, rounding off an otherwise perfect evening for the visiting side.
